Email marketing works.
Here’s how email marketing can help your business, however big or small it is. 1. Email marketing lets you build strong relationships with the people who matter
Email marketing is a brilliant way to build relationships with your prospects and customers and to build trust with them.
From the very first email you send you will be starting to build a strong and lasting relationship with your prospects and customers and gaining their trust. You’ll be able to turn prospects into customers and customers into loyal brand ambassadors who will want to tell people about your amazing product or service. They’ll even hopefully win you some new business into the bargain. And how are you going to do this? The key thing to remember is that you don’t want to just bombard these important people with sales email after sales email after sales email. Or emails all about you and how fantastic your product or service is. People hate that. It totally turns them off and the chances are they’ll unsubscribe from your mailing list in a flash. So how can you build a relationship with them and gain their trust? What are you going to be emailing them? Send them emails they actually want to read because they are useful, interesting, funny… Put yourself in their shoes. If you didn’t have the knowledge you have about your market, what sort of information would you want people to share with you? What would you find useful, interesting etc? For example, if you were a florist, you might email your subscribers useful tips on how to lengthen the life of cut flowers or how to do an amazing floral display. If you were a vet you might email your clients about upcoming pet shows or how much food and exercise their pet should be having each day. The more useful, interesting, funny etc your emails are, the stronger the bond will become. 2. Email marketing helps you become an authority in your field
Would you want to use a tradesman who gave you the impression that he really didn’t know what he was doing?
No, of course you wouldn’t. But I bet you’d want to use a tradesman who had been emailing you for the last 6 months with helpful tips and who obviously knew his trade inside out. Email marketing lets you stand out from the competition by helping you become an authority in your field. If one of your subscribers is looking for a product or service like your product or service and you have been sharing information with them that clearly marks you out as someone who knows a great deal about the subject, then they are far more likely to use you. Your expert knowledge will give them a sense of trust. It’ll help them make the decision to use you. 3. Email marketing keeps you front of mind
A quick word of warning though! Don’t be tempted to email people too often or you’ll put them off and they’ll unsubscribe from your list.
4. Email marketing delivers a superb return on investment
Don’t just take my word for it. Here’s some proof…
According to a September 2016 survey by Winterberry Group and the Data & Marketing Association (DMA) as mentioned in an article by The Content Marketing Association 73% of in-house marketers worldwide said that email marketing provided a strong ROI in 2017. For me, one of the great things about email marketing is that once you’ve written an email you can use it again and again. Over time, you could end up sending the same email to thousands and thousands of people. So the hour you invested in getting that email just right will help you win business for years to come. That’s a very good return on effort. Don't you agree? Thanks for reading this blog post. I hope you’ve found it useful.
